A Winchester rep was at the College yesterday to demonstrate some of their ammunition line - I had to leave before he showed it off but apparently they have a shotgun slug that divides into 3 sections on impact, which sounds cool. What really impressed me was the performance of some of their .45 ACP loads out of a mini-Kahr. The ammo worked better than the pistol, and had great expansion and penetration for coming out of a 3(?) inch barrel. There was a variety of loads in each caliber and I'm not certain of which did what, but my .45s, particularly my 2.5 inch S&W 325PD, may be going on a new diet.
I'm still waiting for some of their .410 "defensive" buck/slug rounds, for the tiny miscreants.
Contact Information
NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
