Contact Information

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

Ohio police suspend 63 officers over deadly pursuit

This sounds like a scene from a Blues Brothers movie.  I'm the first to argue aganst overly restrictive pursuit policies, but this is why we have overly restrictive pursuit policies.  Assuming that they were doubled-up, which may or may not be the case, thats still a minimum of 32 cruisers involved in one pursuit.  I'm highly doubtful that Cleveland has anything like an air traffic control center to coordinate that many speeding, 4,000 pound chess pieces.  By the time you get back to cars 4  thru 32, what exactly do they think they are going to do when it ends, except make it impossible to untangle the cruiser-ball.  Steven Spielberg's first movie, "Sugarland Express," should be required watching in every police academy, as should both Blues Brothers movies, which I used to show the chase scenes from before EVOC.  And there were no other equally important calls?  In Cleveland?  On any given night?
