NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

National Forensic Science Technology Center » NFSTC’s live exploitation demo at SOFIC

Demonstration of battlefield forensics, that could work anywhere.  The takeaway for me is the speed with which this can be done.  Obviously, the military has a vested interest in not taking a week to process a crime scene, which tends to attract snipers and secondary devices.  But a very reliable source told me that the Israeli model to a bombing or mass killing is to have the scene processed and opened within two hours, bloodstains washed up and all.   From a psychosocial perspective, getting back to normal at the scene as quickly as possible may help get things back to normal on a larger scale.  There's thorough, then there's thorough.

A second point is the amount of forensic and incident scene work being done by the military.  With withdrawals and drawdowns, i don't know how it looks as a career field, but I sense that the days of checking vehicle passes at the base gate are going away, or getting subcontracted.
