Contact Information

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

We Are Sort Of Closed...

It may have been George Carlin who said that tornadoes are proof that God hates mobile homes, or Christopher Titus, or Denis Leary, but what are the odds that having moved out of the eastern fringe of Tornado Alley that we'd get whacked with hurricane force winds as often as we do?  Friday evening a squall line passed through that managed to damage any tree I had left from the last maelstrom, and took out power until Sunday night.  Hocking College is closed until Thursday, at least, or until our servers are brought back to life.  Apparently, the building they are in has no backup power supply, so if the grid blowing up didn't destroy them, running in a 100 degree building probably deep-fried them.      It would appear that McDonald's has a superior continuity of operations plan.

At least we have power back, in  less than the 9 days initially predicted, which was probably a random large number thrown out to make the power companies look good when they got it back on earlier than predicted.  None the less, I have no company e-mail and no ability to print anything, so I'm shuttling back and forth between the office and home trying to get some of the critical stuff done. Again, I cannot get my College e-mail, so if you are expecting a reply to something, stop, and it would probably be prudent to resend it after the 4th.
