You can download and read it yourself, but no huge surprises: all the personpower is going where it's needed least. Park Service 0025 numbers are down a little, but seasonals aren't counted. So don't panic. If you were looking for USFWS positions, you should panic. I'm not at all stunned, but BIA took the lead in officers assaulted. The Library of Congress Police was eaten by the US Capital Police. I thought that there was a National Cathedral Police, but didn't see a mention. Apparently whether you carry a gun as a US federal parole officer is up to the District you work in: quite a few work unarmed, which is stupid. DSS numbers look low, but they may not have counted agents assigned overseas, it's a little confusing, because that would also impact DEA and FBI numbers.
And at the rate we are expanding DHS and the Border Patrol, the Rio Grande watershed is going to look like a uniformed version of Burning Man. And the last BP Agent who was shot was in Maine. And they lead in number of LEOs hit with rocks.
Federal Law Enforcement Officers, 2008
Yeah, this is 2012, but it takes 4 years to count everybody and write a 15 page report. It's really tough to extrapolate numbers that old to today's job market, and the future, particularly for those relatively new land management agencies that are looking at retirement bubbles.

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
