This was a complete surprise to me - I don't follow the public gun press and had no inkling that this single-stack M&P minigun was in the works, and I will have one. Yes, I will have one, or two. My M&P Compact has been my daily carry of choice for going on the last year, and I couldn't be more satisfied, so in this case less will be more. It will likely fill the niche of the Kahr CW9, which I just haven't shot enough to be considered broken in or road-ready. Once it's up to speed, it may go to the Princess of Power.
I'm overdue for a top-end gun - I had promised myself 8 years ago that if I was still around in 5 years I'd go for a Nighthawk or Wilson 1911, then S&W went back into the revolver business and I was considering the 1922 or the M&P R8, but maybe I should just get a 6-pack of these. And carry them all in one of those vests like Billy Connolly wore in The Boondock Saints. I wonder if it would hold up chambered in 357 SIG?
M&P Shield
Editorial Comment: The management of GLOCK ought to be pooping themselves. After S&W sorts out the inevitable teething pains with this pistol, GLOCK will find out just how much business they could have had years ago if they had introduced a line of singles stacks, instead of just the G36 ( I see they still have the same sucky website they've had forever). I've had, and still have, a number of GLOCKs and was an early adopter. They are great guns, but as a company they've coasted for the last 2 decades, and now they'll see their once-massive market share slip even faster.

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
