NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

Park officials cordon off dead whale at beach — Maine Outdoors — Bangor Daily News

From Heidi, a little different than rescuing a trapped puppy:
Park officials cordon off dead whale at beach — Maine Outdoors — Bangor Daily News
Best quote in the article: "John Crawford of Bancroft, Ontario, wandered over to the whale carcass to get a close look and to get a few snapshots. He said he hadn’t known the dead whale was there earlier in the day when he was trying to get his family interested in visiting Sand Beach.

“I said, ‘We’ll see all sorts of stuff,’” Crawford said. “It’s educational for my kids.”

What fascinates me is that there is an actual company named "Allied Whale." Heidi wrote that the necropsy was "FOUL," which reminds me of my 8th grade science project involving defleshing a dead calf so I could build the skeleton. After sitting in the vat over the weekend school was delayed Monday morning for a couple hours while the 1960s version of a HAZMAT team cleaned up the science room and I was told to make the solar system out of sticks and styrofoam balls.
