I haven't even had a chance to check the papers, so I don't know much, but 3 Columbus (Ohio) coppers took hits during a confrontation with a quadruple murder suspect, who now resides in a rubber bag on a gurney. As of last night, one of the cops had already been discharged from the hospital, and the other two were said to not be seriously injured.
Adams County is a couple counties east of Cincinnati, and contributed to my interest in rural policing and Appalachian issues. It is is home to the Serpent Mound, one of the most elaborate effigy mounds in North America, and the Tranquility Wildlife Area, where I did a lot of my early shooting. It isn't the sort of place you'd expect a quadruple murder - a domestic murder-suicide, or a trailerpark gunbattle over meth distribution territory, sure, but not a quad. Rural Ohio has sure turned into a bloodbath over the last year.
Contact Information
NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
