Bill's Note: Not being a medic, I don't endorse or not endorse any of the techniques or products in this article, but all in all these are points well taken. As the author points out, it doesn't have to be a GSW to yourself or others where having the ability to immediately respond may be needed. Personally, I'm still a little squeamish about tourniquets, but generally I'm only minutes away from at least basic emergency medical care. I am to the point where a trauma dressing is a normally carried piece of gear, the same as spare magazines or flashlight. And trauma/bandage shears are cheap and can literally be bought by the dozens and used for everything from cutting stains out of a carpet at a crime scene, cutting fingerprint tape, rope, webbing or, well, trauma and bandage stuff.

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
