As long as I can remember, once a year there was a period of time called "winter." During "winter" the temperature was lower than the rest of the year, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Some areas have "winters" that are colder than others. Nonetheless, "winter" always happened, I've never heard or one being skipped or canceled.
This being SE Ohio, where school busses are allergic to snow, generally Hocking College managed to stay open, only closing once in my tenure here. When we got a president from MInnesota, I figured we'd never close. But no, for Monday and Tuesday the campuses are closed, classes are canceled, and those of you who want careers at Denali or Gates of the Arctic or the Point Barrow Post of the Alaska State Police or Maine DNR can complain about how warm it is.
I got my hand smacked the last time I held classes when the campus was closed, so don't even ask.
RAP26 will take their NPS test on Wednesday 0800-1000 as discussed
RAP25 candidates will take their NPS retests on Wednesday 0800-1000
This hasn't effected OPOTA retests at this time
I have no idea of what the remainder of the schedule will look like
Re-read your Guidelines/Syllabus
It's great powder, so I'd take advantage of it, we never have ski-able snow.
Contact Information
NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
