Contact Information

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

January Academy Updates

I think we are at the point to where we've admitted just about everyone on the waiting list and the final mailings are being prepped and will go out this week. You either have received or will receive shortly your uniform information, and I want to stress that the shirt color is "Law Enforcement Green" and not "TDU Green." If you or your examiner have any questions about the long form medical assessment, contact me or refer to The NPS Medical Standards linked to the right.  While you may be admittable to the Academy, it would be pointless to attend if you have a pre-existing medical condition that prevents you from training or from being hired.  I've also reached my limit of phone calls asking whether a chiropractor or some other provider can do the exam.  It clearly states:
  • DO
  • MD
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • (Certified) Physician Assistant, which very definitely is NOT the same as a medical assistant.
If they aren't one of the above, I don't care if they are a herbalist, veterinarian, diener (look it up), faith healer, airframe and powerplant mechanic, psychic surgeon, Pilates instructor, tattoo artist or anything else, the exam won't count and you'll have to repeat it, with a prostate check done simultaneously with a reading comprehension test thrown in for good measure.

And a shout out to the young lady who though she shouldn't have to wait in line or follow the normal enrollment process - the guy who got your spot is pretty happy, he was enrolled in late October, pretty much as I predicted would happen when we spoke in August.  I'm sure that one of the other program managers is just thrilled to have you in their class.
