Contact Information

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

I Hate It When I'm Right:

In interviewing classes I always use examples of internal thefts and fraud committed by employees and insiders, usually cash from the till at a lodge or park bookstore, or fueling POVs at agency gas pumps. This is just a variation on the same theme
BENT'S OLD FORT NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Employee Indicted For Embezzlement
After discovering discrepancies in the audit of gas receipts for park vehicles, Bents Old Fort employees contacted an NPS special agent to help in the investigation. Video surveillance from a local gas station confirmed that the acting facility manager from Bents Old Fort had been using six fleet cards to purchase gas and auto parts for personal use for an amount over $1,000.  The employee was indicted in federal court on October 3rd and pled guilty on December 16th to one count 18 USC 641 (embezzlement and theft). The employee will be sentenced on March 2nd.
