Contact Information

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

What I Did on My Vacation

From L - R: NPS Honor Guard Ranger, whose job is to intercept me if I grab the certificate and rabbit.  Me, and yes, that's a tie, and no, I haven't been propped up from a casket.  Brian Peters, Special Agent, DOI Office of LE Training, FLETA Board member and graduate of the very first SLETP held at Hocking, Liz Dodson, NPS Accreditation Manager, Superintendent Don Usher, NPSLETC at FLETC (and incidentally the pilot of the USPP helo that scooped survivors of an aircraft crash out of the frozen Potomac back in the 80's.  If you watch the film, the skids actually submerged at least once, that's sporty flying), Tammy Keller, Branch Chief, Basic and Seasonal Training Programs, NPSLETC at FLETC, and another NRTI grad, who still remembers a certain firearms instructor, and a second Honor Guard Ranger, in case I break for the door out of frame to the right.

The meeting was held in a suburb of Annapolis named "Parole," which is not a really flattering name for a community that has hectares of upscale shopping malls and a Whole Foods.  Turns out that it was a meeting point for Union and Confederate forces where prisoner exchanges took place, hence the name.  I got my shopping in also, as I always do in coastal areas, by purchasing marine grade corrosion inhibitor and electrical terminal protectant.

  1. The Honor Guard ranger on the left is Jim Barnes. I worked with him at Shenandoah NP. He now works at Manassas.
