NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

GL-0025-7/9 Protection Ranger, Grand Portage NM

Grand Portage National Monument is seeking a protection ranger who is interested in a wide range of law enforcement duties as well as assisting with building relations with a small, progressive Native American community. Grand Portage National Monument is located in the Arrowhead region of Northeastern Minnesota, between the North Shore of Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.  The monument is located within the Grand Portage Indian Reservation and Cook County, Minnesota. which is 90% public lands. Grand Marais, Minnesota, is 37 miles away and is a destination vacation area for the Upper Midwest and includes North House Folk School, great dining, and art colony. Thunder Bay, Ontario, is the closest city with a population of more than 100,000. Superlative recreational opportunities exist nearby, including canoeing, kayaking, boating, dog mushing, fishing ( in the Big Lake and inland), and snowmobiling.  Grand Portage National Monument opened a new Heritage Center in August, 2007 with new exhibits and administrative office space overlooking Grand Portage Bay, Lake Superior.
