I don't know why it is in the Weird News section.......
Police Use 'Ghost Car' to Scare Distracted Drivers
(April 6) -- After trying everything from speed traps to sobriety checkpoints to bust bad drivers, police in New York are turning to the supernatural.
The Westchester County Police Department is dispatching a "ghost car" to pull over lawbreaking motorists on the roads just outside of New York City.
Unlike regular police cars, the ghost car has no lights on its roof and no colored decals identifying it as a police vehicle. Instead, the all-white 2009 Ford Crown Victoria is outfitted with white police stickers on its doors that are only visible at close distances.......continues
This is the part I really like:
"...Officials are also worried that the vehicle might blend into the landscape on snowy days -- so they've been keeping it off the road during winter storms..."
They should share that nugget of wisdom with other agencies that drive white cars, there may be a couple or three. Anybody who couldn't instantly identify this as a copcar needs a ticket.
Contact Information
NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
