NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

Michigan Police Cars

Of course I don't have pictures, but there are plenty of them out there -

Michigan State Police cars can rock the single beacon.  They are plenty visible, without being distracting.  I really wanted to see one of the LED proto beacons, but no luck.  I also wonder if PAR36 LED units could be retrofit.  I still like the looks of the Federal 184 over the Unity, but I'd take the Unity.  Going from Ohio, where the OSP cars light up like the Tilt-a-Whirl at Cedar Point, to Michigan there is quite a difference, but the MSP cars were still plenty visible during the daytime.  Less can be more.

Kalamazoo PD cars could not be more black and white and plain.  I'll admit though, I'm starting to see the appeal of toning down the graphics some.  I could certainly tell right away that it was a cop car.  One concern I'd have from a fleet management standpoint would be trying to match paint when doing body repairs.  White isn't always white, and black can fade and weather.
