NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.

I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.

My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.

Details on Sandy Hook / Gateway NRA

From the Sandy Hook LE Operations Chief:

"The Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway is a great place for new law enforcement officers to gain valuable real world experience, hit the ground running, and be involved in a full range of diverse law enforcement activities. Sandy Hook Rangers issue thousands of Violation Notices, make hundreds of custodial arrests, and run over ten thousand calls for service each year. We have a strong structural fire program and offer training opportunities in law enforcement and fire.  Sandy Hook is a FLETC Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) training site with several Field Training Officers on staff.  We participate in various multi-agency initiatives, including the Bayshore DWI Task Force, Monmouth County (NJ) Crime Prevention Officers,  Bayshore Maritime Security & Intelligence working group, among others.

This year, our announcement at the GS-0025-05 level is open as a "standing register," with an overall final closing date of 01/18/2011.  The first cut off, however is 02/03/2010.  In order to be considered for the first round of Summer 2010 Seasonal LER hiring, candidates will need to have their complete application packets submitted prior to 02/03/2010.  This is our attempt to maintain a standing register of seasonal LER candidates at the GS-0025-05 level to pull from as the year develops for non-peak seasonal hiring, emergency hiring, etc."
