| A badly decomposed body found over the weekend in Ogden Canyon has been identified as a 60-year-old man missing since June. Family members reported James Purdy, of Ogden, missing June 29 after he left his house and never returned, the Weber County Sheriff's Office said. Hunters discovered Purdy's body just before noon on Saturday, above a waterfall on the north side of the canyon's mouth, said Capt. Klint Anderson. Purdy's family contacted the sheriff's office Sunday with information that led investigators to believe the body was Purdy, Anderson said. Purdy's family told the sheriff's office he was an "experienced hiker." The state medical examiner's office confirmed Purdy's identity Tuesday through dental records. An official cause of death has not yet been determined. The discovery of Purdy's body brings closure for his family, Anderson said. Purdy's wife told investigators she went to the store the day he disappeared in June. When she returned, he was gone and hadn't left a note saying where he went. The family assumed the man went hiking, but didn't know exactly what happened to him until the discovery of his body this week, Anderson said. --Melinda Rogers |

NRTI as we knew it is no more, and I don't know what will happen in the future. Technically, I'm still employed by the College, though am enjoying a paid hiatus, and working on everything I couldn't work on when I was spending 70 hours a week running the Program, like cleaning up from the tornado that hit, what, 7 years ago now? I'm also commissioned with a nearby county agency, actually answering to one of the more popular instructors, so I'm still trying to keep my hand in.
I'll continue to post information and news from grads and friends, and also want to keep current with LE news and references.
My College phone and e-mail are pretty much out of service, so I'll be setting up yet another account , so we can stay in touch.
